What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a hands-on therapy developed in Japan through a synthesis of Eastern and Western medical concepts. We use fingers and palm to apply comforting pressure and to understand your body's condition. Shiatsu therapy is a treatment that will normalize the function of the body by pressing the surface of the body to prompt "Reflexion" (reaction of the organism to stimuli occurring unconsciously). The purpose of Shiatsu is to maximize the function of the natural healing power that comes with the human body.

Shiatsu and Trigger points

Shiatsu is a great form of manual therapy and very compatible with trigger points therapy. While I am studying Acupuncture, I realized that trigger points and meridian are also share the pathway. My style of Shiatsu is combination of trigger points therapy, acupressure, assisted stretching and  joint mobilization.

Preparing for your treatment

In order to get the most of your Shiatsu treatment, please bring stretchy pants or loose fitting pants, t-shirts and socks to get most out of  your shiatsu treatment. This allows me to give you some stretch and adjustment of the body alignment.
